Driven by K. Bromberg‏

K. Bromberg was born and raised in Southern California. She graduated from University of California at San Diego with two bachelors—economics and political science—but always loved to write.

K. Bromberg remains in Southern California with her husband and their three young children. When not writing or working her day job, she can be found playing ninjas or power rangers with her son, fixing the hair of her oldest daughter’s American girl doll, trying to potty train her youngest daughter, or listening to any or all of them fight/whine at once. When she needs a break from the daily chaos, you can almost always find her with Kindle in hand, devouring the pages of a good book.

Rylee Thomas is used to being in control. But she’s about to meet the one man that just might make her enjoy losing it…

I am the exception to the rule.

In a world full of willing women, I’m a challenge to the roguish and achingly handsome Colton Donavan. A man used to getting exactly what he wants in all aspects of life. He’s the reckless bad boy constantly skating that razor thin edge toward out of control, on and off of the track.

Colton crashes into my life like a tornado: sapping my control, testing my vulnerabilities beyond their limits, and unintentionally penetrating the protective wall around my healing heart. Tearing apart the world I rebuilt so carefully with structure, predictability, and discipline.

I can’t give him what he wants and he can’t give me what I need. But after a glimpse beneath his refined exterior into the dark secrets of his damaged soul, can I bring myself to walk away?

Our sexual chemistry is undeniable. Our individual need for complete control is irrefutable. But when our worlds collide, is the chemistry enough to bring us together or will our untold secrets and battle of wills force us apart?

Q) What inspired you to write this story?
In all honesty, I’m not quite sure. Rylee and Colton kind of jumped in my head and the ideas kept building and building until I started outlining. It wasn’t one specific event, just something that I felt could be a really good story if I could do the ideas in my head justice when I transferred them to paper.

Q) How long did it take you to write?
Driven took me about 4 months to write. But with that said, my original version off of my outline ended up being 800+ pages. So I had to readjust the book and move almost half into the second book of The Driven Trilogy, Fueled. So it took me 4 months but that was for 1 and 2/3 books. Editing for me is what takes the longest amount of time. I usually write about 50 pages and then spend the next 3 days reading and rereading those 50 pages to make sure they are clean and precise.

Q) What is your favorite thing about writing?
I like the unexpected. I am a total planner and outline everything…but sometimes when I am writing a scene, something pops into my head and it’s incredible. It’s that one thing that elevates a scene to the next level or makes it just that much better. Those unexpected moments—the ones you can’t plan for—are the ones that make the book jump off the page and into the reader’s mind.

Q) What is your least favorite thing about writing?
As with any writer, when the words just don’t come to your keyboard, that’s the worst. It’s frustrating to see it all in your head, but when you type, it’s not how you imagined it and for the life of you, you can’t find a way to get it there. That’s the worst!

Q) If you could be any famous person for one day, who would you be and why?
That’s a tough one! I think I’d like to be Nora Roberts. The woman churns out books like there is no tomorrow. She makes it look effortless and I’d love to be inside her head to see her thought process in how she approaches a novel, outlines her characters, processes ideas and plotlines…I know it’s not very fascinating but I’m still learning this process and would like to see how a veteran does it.

Q) What is the oldest thing in your fridge and how old is it?
The oldest thing in my refrigerator has to be a little jar of maraschino cherries. I think I bought them forever ago to make sundaes for my kids and we never used them all. Besides that, I’m pretty anal about my fridge. I certainly don’t want to put new/fresh food in with old, nasty food. (I’m kind of a clean freak :))

Q) What can readers expect from you in the future?
Readers can expect the next two books on The Driven Trilogy. Fueled will be released in August and Crashed will be towards the end of the year. Besides those books, I have some ideas for some stand alone novels that are starting to fill my head. But more….definitely more from me in the future.
