The Reversing Worlds Trilogy by J.T. Brown‏

J.T. Brown is a paranormal fantasy/science fiction author, who lives in Downeast, Maine. J.T. has always been drawn to the ocean, maybe because she spent most of her days on her father’s lobster boat as a child, or maybe it’s the phenomenon that shakes her cage daily. The Reversing Falls, which sits on the coast of Maine has always sang its mysteries across the twisting currents of the ocean, but for J.T. that song has always been a tale, waiting to bleed its story across the pages of “The Reversing World’s Trilogy.”

Harper Grogen has no idea that she is the most powerful creature in Pasmaqon. She recognizes that she is different from other eleven year olds; maybe a little quirky, but magical was not in her self-description.

Her inquisitive notion drove her to an old tattered book which held a mysterious stone. Struggling to open the clasp, releasing the stone as, it radiates a glow across her room.

She kept the rock in her pocket for secrecy.

Her possession of the stone sent her to a world, which had been hidden under the ocean's fire tornado of “'Reversing Falls.”

She found herself fighting for her life in a land that is its own worst compelling character, not knowing who to trust, only the estranged friends that she meets along the way. Oliver, which holds his cover as a trustworthy gnome, and Minsty, a large gentle giant that protects her from the dark creatures, who roam and strip the lands with their ghostly evil presence.

She discovers that her adventure holds the key of eternity. She learns her existence is a true mystery that sings along the pages of her ancestor’s mysterious book.

The words whisper along the pages of the old tattered book showing its deceitful powers, only to harm what is in its path to Harper’s treasures. Harper has learned the secrets of Pasmaqon and has grown into her powerful magical being which is her strongest power of all. She is prepared to fight the villains of Pasmaqon, yet she is not prepared to fight her past villains that chose to find the only leak to the powerful lands beyond.

Harper is about to sacrifice her life in a battle of the unknown as, she protects who she thought she would never consider as equals. She realizes the battle is non-other without their help. Wizard of Tide’s power has grown stronger, uncovering the secrets of Pasmaqon. To use his new found freedom to destroy the worlds around them. Harper discovers an old friend that carries the secrets of the book and the world. She unfolds the meaning that she longed to find, only to discover the darkness pulls her into a whirlwind of her own worst fears.

Harper needs to find her warrior within, and face not only Tide’s Ghost, the darkness, but Wizard Argon. Who has stripped the land of Pasmaqon of its beauty and its power, only to strengthen his own land of Thurrobia.

Nothing has been left behind – only ghost spirits that had surrendered themselves to the powerful force of Wizard Argon. Pasmaqon is left powerless with only the spirits of the past.

The mysteries bleed its phenomenon off from the pages of Mystical Book, as the terror and the ghost dance with the mysterious tune. That sends Harper into a whirl wind spin tossing her to learn the truth behind the cover of the storm.
Is war the only answer?

But…..How can you fight something that is already dead, how can you weaken the weak, and how can you save a land that has already in silence.

Harper can now trust no one or anything, for she may never know who is watching from behind. Harper’s powers mean nothing to the unseen.

Q) What inspired you to write this story?
When I was a child, I used to go on my father’s fishing vessel called the “Marsha Darlene”, I was fascinated with a special place called “The Reversing Falls.” A true phenomenon, which scientist are babbled on how a small cove in Maine contains hundreds of whirlpools. My father’s route home was always through the “Falls,” but the tide had to be just right to get through. I remember our journeys, feeling the boat shift side to side, making me terrified that the tide would take us with it forever. I remember the fear, but I also remember always wondering what was on the bottom of the Reversing Falls. When I was a child I loved to draw, write stories, especially about The Reversing Falls, as the years passed on I moved on and married my high school sweetheart, started a beautiful family, and jumped to career to career. Oddly enough I still felt comfort in sketching and storytelling. I soon realized that writing is a passion of mine that follows me, with all the crazy stories that wake me up at night. For the Reversing Worlds Trilogy, my mystery in my mind has been released from my childhood mind and has grown into a story that I never thought it could be possible. The madness began many years ago, I finally decided to write down my story that was eating away my soul, as it has a soft spot in my heart.

Q) How long did it take you to write?
The Reversing Trilogy has been years in the making. Being a self-published author it has taken me some time to master all the roles to make one book happen. After I finally found myself in the self-publishing mode, I was able to write a book 3-4 month span. Of course, that being said – depending on family obligations and such. My first role is being a mother, and this always takes priority. While my important role takes place my journals get jammed packed with pictures, sketches, and plots. J

Q) What is your favorite thing about writing?
I find it fascinating to create characters into a fictional or believable figure, a personality, and a style. I think it is amazing to bring their fictional story to life. We have no control in our future, but for our characters we can line up their futures perfectly. If it is not the right path for the character we can change thing around until their story is told in the most surreal way possible. I love telling stories, and have so many to tell. I love taking a simple thing and blossoming it into a work of my individual art. Maybe not everyone’s thought of a work of art, but it sure is for me knowing that these stories can be passed to my children, they can pass them off to their children, and so on. For my wonderful family will always be connected to me years away. Also, I always want to pass along a message, not only to my family – but to readers, to never give up on a dream. To always reach for the stars, this is why we are all here. We are here to shine in the brightest way that we individually can. My stories contain the upsides of bullying, how to believe in yourself. Even how to reach out and help out charities. This is how I want my work to shine and effect readers, is always having a message – to always keep trying and never giving up. Today’s world is so competitive and soul bending that it is easy to let our inner star fall. If I can just reach even a few, I have done what I was meant to do.

Q) What is your least favorite thing about writing?
My least favorite thing is – EDITING, yes…..I used that word.

For some this is the greatest part – for me, not so much. I have struggled with dyslexia all my life, actually not struggled, I have proudly lived with dyslexia. I don’t look at it as a setback, I think the most creative minds always has a unique taste to it. Anyhow, editing for me is tough. Of course it makes sense to me I think dyslexic and read dyslexic……so readers, they don’t write and read dyslexic…..this creates a problem. It takes a lot of time combing through, lots of times I use a program for it to be read back to me, before I hand it off to my editor. Sometimes she sends it back to me knowing that I can do better with my writing. She has made me a stronger writer and has forced me to look harder in my words. I am so grateful for my wonderful editor, she has changed my writing and has helped me climb the highest mountain of grammar and story structure. She has made my stories comes alive, and I can never thank her enough for that.

Q) If you could be any famous person for one day, who would you be and why?
Wow, this is a hard one…..

Actually to be honest, I wouldn’t want to be famous. I know that sounds very strange, it’s just not me. I am a very plain country girl, grated I do girly up once in a while. What I would love to do is to be a historical famous person’s mind for the times that they made a difference in the world. Like Elizabeth Cady Stanton, in that very moment, when she turned the world around for women. Or the moment when Amelia Earhart took the seat as a pilot for the first time. Even – Oprah Winfrey when she has made a continuous difference in so many people’s lives. Wouldn’t that be great! To be in their minds at those very moments to feel that surreal feeling knowing that you are where you are supposed to be in the world. Now, I don’t want to pick women over men so as far as the men – How about Steve Jobbs, we appreciate his work every day or Benjamin Franklin that literally brought the light to our world. These are the people I would love to shadow for the day, read their minds in the greatest state of mind. That would be amazing to shadow on the greatest minds for a day. Don’t you think?

Q) What is the oldest thing in your fridge and how old is it?
Ohhh Goodness….the oldest thing in my fridge is my attempt of making homemade blueberry jam. I think I keep it in there to remind myself I am not Betty Crooker, I am good at somethings, but being crafty with fruit is not one of them. LOL!!! Or maybe it is a reminder to keep trying to conquer the jam making. J It has been there for three years, I am thinking now that it is on my mind, I should toss the whole jars without opening them.

Q) What can readers expect from you in the future?
After, I finish The Reversing Worlds Trilogy, I have been working on a thriller/mystery with a twist of paranormal. I am in hopes of having a release in 2015. I actually have a collection of ghost stories that I have collected over the years, I am thinking I might create a middle grade book full of ghost stories.

This is something that I might work on this summer, we will see…….It is all about the time and juggling family, work, horses, and all that comes with life. J

I want to thank you greatly for interviewing me and featuring me on your wonderful Blog. Your questions are really fun to answer and I did it with laughs and smiles.

I wish you the best in your future endeavors and thank you for supporting mine as I will look forward in reading your work as well.

Thank you,
J.T. Brown
