Messenger is the first prequel to the bestselling Guardian Trilogy - the breathtaking romantic saga about a love that has lasted centuries between a messenger and her guardian.

Maggie does not know she is a messenger. She has never met her eternal lover. She has never survived a Fallen One. All this changes when a messenger awakens in the Hall of Records only to die moments later, never to return.

As Maggie sets out to determine why the messengers are suddenly beginning to die, she crosses paths with the infuriatingly appealing Eran and their story begins.

In this riveting account of Maggie's first life on earth with Eran, the star-crossed lover's romance transpires amidst treacherous enemies, their friends' resistance, and their own opposing wills. With the odds against her, can Maggie survive long enough to admit the feelings she has so carefully denied?

Q) What inspired you to write this story?
Well, to be honest, I just wanted to write about Maggie and Eran being in love again. They have so much chemistry, a combative type of romance that I missed them and telling their story. Since there was a lot of backstory that needed to be covered and some missing information that needed to be explained, I figured I should go back and finally tell it.

Q) How long did it take you to write?
Only about 3 months. I typically take about a month off between books to work on other projects and let the next book marinade in my mind. Then I typically write full bore during marathon writing sessions, meaning 8 to 12 hours in front of the computer. Being in the middle of a multi-car pileup last summer has slowed me down a lot and kept me from writing those marathon sessions, but I still try to charge through it. It's great when you have a mind full of ideas, not so great when you're trying to write them and the room starts to turn on its side.

Q) What is your favorite thing about writing?
Hearing from my readers. Hands down, that is the best part. Every day I hear from those who like my books, and their enthusiasm for the characters and for what they are going through is what keeps me writing. I deeply appreciate those who read my books and take the time to write me.

Q) What is your least favorite thing about writing?
Deadlines. Wow, are they hard to keep!

Q) If you could be any famous person for one day, who would you be and why?
Kate Middleton. But only for a day, otherwise I'd get far too comfortable with that sort of lifestyle!

Q) What is the oldest thing in your fridge and how old is it?
Kikkoman teriyaki marinade. Can't stand teriyaki. Someone must have brought and left it.

Q) What can readers expect from you in the future?
I have several books competing for my mind's attention right now, but before I get to any of them I'll be finishing the next prequel in the Guardian Trilogy. It's title is Guardian and it recounts the second lifetime that Eran and Maggie spend together in which they are truly and utterly alone - shunned by their world for having engaged in a taboo love affair while their enemies create an army that is designed to destroy them.
